Freezing & Hot Tapping

Freezing

Freezing is a process that involves freezing a plug in place with dry ice. Freezing is used when other pressure control means are impractical or unsafe. Freezing could be used to change or repair a damaged valve or when a well comes on unexpectedly during drilling and the kelly has to be removed to install additional drill pipe. Freezing is a temporary and cost-effective solution to control pressure. Badger’s experienced personnel are available 24 hours a day to access and complete any situation that may require freezing.

Hot-Tapping

Hot tapping is a process that involves using specially designed equipment to drill ports to relieve pressure that is or may be trapped behind equipment. Hot tapping allows the pressure to be relieved while maintaining control of the well. Hot tapping can be used in a variety of situations. Our experienced personnel are available 24 hours a day to meet your hot tapping needs.
